Complete comprehensive assessments for prospective and current residents. Develop, implement, and update individualized service and care plans. Coordinate all health-related services and communicate with physicians, families, and healthcare providers. Monitor resident conditions and promptly report significant changes. Ensure residents receive care with dignity, respect, and compassion. Review and revise resident care plans as resident needs change. Respond effectively and calmly during emergency situations. Oversee medication administration in accordance with physician orders and applicable regulations.
Leadership & Staff Management
Recruit, interview, hire, train, and supervise resident care staff. Evaluate staff performance and provide coaching, mentoring, and corrective action as needed. Determine appropriate staffing levels to meet resident care needs. Conduct staff meetings, in-service training, and ongoing education programs. Participate in the Manager-on-Duty rotation and serve on-call for resident and staffing needs.
Quality Assurance & Regulatory Compliance
Monitor care services to ensure compliance with all state, federal, and company regulations. Lead quality improvement initiatives and participate in performance improvement activities. Ensure accurate and timely documentation of resident care and staff training. Develop and maintain policies and procedures related to resident care, infection control, and incident management. Ensure fair and consistent application of disciplinary actions in accordance with company policies and employment laws. Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards of practice.
Community Relations & Marketing
Participate in the admission and move-in process for new residents. Build positive relationships with residents, families, and healthcare providers. Assist with community marketing efforts and support occupancy goals. Serve as an advocate for residents and their families.
Requirements Qualifications & Requirements Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related healthcare field preferred; equivalent experience in community or geriatric nursing may be considered. Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory or management experience in healthcare, assisted living, personal care, or long-term care. Experience working with older adults, including individuals with dementia and memory impairments, preferred.
Licensure & Certifications
Current and active nursing license (RN or LPN) in the applicable state, preferred or required based on state regulations. Current CPR certification required. Valid driver's license required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Thorough knowledge of state and federal regulations governing assisted living and personal care communities. Strong assessment, care planning, and clinical decision-making skills. Demonstrated knowledge of the aging process, dementia care, and chronic disease management. Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and team-building skills. Strong written, verbal, and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with electronic health records and Microsoft Office applications. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment. Commitment to providing compassionate, resident-centered care.
This position may require evening, weekend, holiday, and on-call availability to ensure the ongoing care and well-being of residents.
