Job Overview You will be responsible for estimating the cost and resources required for electrical projects in various settings such as construction, manufacturing, and engineering. The role involves analyzing blueprints, collaborating with project managers, and ensuring that projects stay within budget while meeting all regulatory and safety standards.
Electrical Estimator Responsibilities & Duties Analyze blueprints and technical drawings to prepare accurate cost estimates Collaborate with project managers and engineers to define project scope and objectives Prepare detailed material and labor cost estimates for electrical projects Evaluate and negotiate supplier and subcontractor bids Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices Track and report on the financial performance of ongoing projects Prepare and present bid proposals to clients Assist in the development of project timelines and schedules Review and assess project changes and their impact on cost Provide support in the negotiation of contracts and procurement of materials Conduct site visits to assess project requirements and verify estimates Utilize specialized software tools to enhance estimation accuracy Compile and maintain comprehensive records of historical data and estimates Participate in post-project reviews to identify areas for improvement
Electrical Estimator Qualifications & Skills Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) or equivalent certification Prior experience in electrical estimating or a related role Proficiency in estimation software such as Esticom, Accubid, or similar Strong understanding of electrical codes and standards Excellent analytical and mathematical skills Strong communication and interpersonal skills Experience with project management and scheduling software High school diploma or equivalent Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in electrical estimating or electrical project management Strong technical background in electrical systems and components Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents Effective time management skills and ability to meet deadlines Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Understanding of financial principles related to cost estimating Company Description We are a General Contractor company specializing in industrial/commercial electrical and process equipment build.
