Architectural Blueprinting: Define technical solutions, assumptions, and constraints for major initiatives. Cloud-Native Evolution: Lead the migration and optimization of ModMed products into a unified cloud engineering organization using AWS/Azure/GCP best practices. Standardization & Reuse: Identify recurring patterns across product lines to develop common frameworks, reducing duplication and driving engineering efficiency. Hands-on Technical Leadership: Develop prototypes, establish CI/CD standards, and embed modern SRE/DevOps principles in every design. Technical Governance: Evaluate existing systems for bottlenecks in performance, security, or cost, and propose actionable architectural shifts. Mentorship: Guide staff and senior engineers, elevating the technical bar and ensuring the architecture is understood and correctly implemented.
What You’ll Bring
10+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 3 years in an architectural role. Bachelor's in Computer Science or related degree or equivalent experience. Proven track record designing and scaling large-scale, distributed SaaS applications; expertise in horizontal scaling, database sharding, and event-driven architectures. Deep experience with cloud-native principles (containers, Kubernetes, serverless, service mesh) and multi-cloud strategies. Expert knowledge of Agile, Lean, and SAFe and integrating architectural runway into fast-moving sprints. Strong experience with automation frameworks, observability (APM, logging), and security-by-design (DevSecOps). Exceptional ability to decompose complex problems and explain them clearly to developers and executive leadership.
Location Requirement Hybrid: This role requires being in the office 3 days a week to collaborate closely with the Director and engineering leadership.
