The Preventive Maintenance (PM) Mobile Technician is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, inspections, and minor repairs on construction equipment, rental equipment, fleet assets, and customer-owned equipment at customer job sites and company facilities. This role serves as a mobile field technician focused on maximizing equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and delivering exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, self‑motivated, and comfortable working independently in field environments. What you'll do:
Preventive Maintenance & Equipment Service Perform scheduled preventative maintenance services on construction, rental, and customer-owned equipment Conduct equipment inspections to identify wear, damage, or potential failures Complete routine maintenance tasks including lubrication, fluid changes, filter replacements, adjustments, and minor repairs Recommend corrective actions and maintenance schedules to improve equipment reliability and performance Test and verify equipment functionality following maintenance or repair activities Field Service Operations Travel to customer locations and job sites to perform maintenance, inspections, and service work Diagnose basic equipment issues and perform minor repairs when appropriate Communicate equipment status, maintenance findings, and repair recommendations to customers and management Complete service reports, inspection documentation, and maintenance records accurately and on time Represent the company professionally while providing field support and customer service Fleet & Service Vehicle Management Maintain company service vehicles in a clean, safe, and professional condition Monitor vehicle maintenance requirements and complete inspections as required Maintain inventory of commonly used parts, tools, and maintenance supplies Safeguard company equipment, tools, and materials assigned to the position Customer Service & Communication Build and maintain positive relationships with customers through responsive service and technical support Communicate clearly regarding maintenance schedules, equipment condition, and service recommendations Respond professionally to customer questions and service‑related concerns Support a customer‑first culture focused on reliability and operational excellence Safety & Compliance Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements Operate vehicles, equipment, and tools safely and responsibly Maintain compliance with OSHA requirements and company safety standards Report accidents, injuries, equipment damage, or unsafe conditions immediately Maintain safe work practices in both field and facility environments Team Collaboration Work closely with Service Managers, Service Coordinators, Technicians, and Operations personnel to prioritize workload and customer needs Assist with in‑house maintenance activities when field service demand is low Support special projects and operational initiatives as assigned Perform additional duties as assigned What you'll bring:
Strong mechanical aptitude and preventative maintenance knowledge Ability to read and interpret service manuals, schematics, and technical documentation Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills Excellent customer service and communication abilities Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Strong organizational and time‑management skills Ability to prioritize multiple service calls and deadlines Minimum 1 year of experience working with construction equipment, rental equipment, heavy equipment, fleet maintenance, or related industries Experience performing preventative maintenance on construction or industrial equipment Familiarity with hydraulic, mechanical, electrical, and diesel‑powered equipment Experience with service documentation systems and mobile technology Basic inventory management and parts tracking experience High School Diploma or GED Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record Ability to provide and maintain a basic set of mechanical tools Primarily field‑based position with travel to customer locations, job sites, and company facilities Exposure to varying weather conditions, noise, dust, vibration, moving equipment, and mechanical hazards Frequent driving throughout assigned service territory Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, kneel, crouch, and perform physically demanding work Ability to safely lift and move materials and equipment up to 75 pounds Ability to climb on and off equipment safely May require overtime or extended hours based on customer and operational needs What you'll earn:
