Pediatrics Physician

Coverage Needed:

• August 3, 2026 - Ongoing
  • Weekday coverage 7a-3:30p
  • Weeknight call
  • 24 hour call Weekend coverage
    • Anticipate being on-site 4 hours during weekend call
    • 30 minute response time
• Preference for providers available for 5-7 day blocks

Clinical Details:

• High-acuity pediatric and congenital cardiac program
• Support Staff: Full support staff available, including CRNAs, residents, pediatric specialists, cath lab team, and dedicated pediatric units
  • Two part time pediatric cardiac anesthesiologists with plan to get to 4
• Collaborative multidisciplinary environment
• Provider must be comfortable performing the full scope of pediatric anesthesiology, including:
  • Pediatric general anesthesia cases
  • Pediatric cardiac anesthesia
  • Congenital heart surgery cases
  • Cardiopulmonary bypass ("pump") cases
  • Cardiac catheterization lab procedures
  • Additional pediatric surgical and procedural anesthesia as needed
• EMR: EPIC
• TEE certification: Not needed, the peds cardiologists do these
• Pediatric cardiac versus general pediatric anesthesia: Variable but goal will be to prioritize pediatric cardiac anesthesia cases in OR, cath lab, etc first
• Congenital heart/pump cases performed annually: Program has 125 index cases

Requirements:

• Active Illinois License, CSR, and DEA
  • Will accept candidates needing to obtain a IL license
• Board Certified
• ACLS, BLS, PALS
• Peds anesthesia required with experience in peds cardiac or specific peds cardiac anesthesia
