Senior Software Engineer – Next Generation Avionics
As a Senior Software Engineer within the Next-Generation Avionics (NGA) Flight Displays Platform team, you will design, architect, develop, and deploy advanced Avionics Display System solutions for the Anthem Integrated Flight Deck. Key Responsibilities
Design, develop and implement robust, high-quality software solutions for Flight Display System platforms, services and/or applications, ensuring high performance, reliability, and functionality. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and define requirements, design software architectures, and implement software modules. Engage in the full software development lifecycle from concept through deployment, ensuring software meets all functional and performance requirements. Take ownership of software modules, deliver innovative features, implement functionalities and contribute to the overall advancement of technology. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of software with existing avionics systems. Identify opportunities for software improvements and optimizations in existing applications. Contribute to software architecture and coding. Define features. Stay current with advancements in avionics technologies and industry trends to inform design decisions and enhance system capabilities. Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics. 5–6+ years of experience in embedded software development. Strong proficiency in C/C++. Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field. Understanding of various software development life cycles, methodologies and tools. Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++, Python, etc. Experience developing software in a Real-Time Operating System (RTOS). Experience in Embedded software development for aerospace, avionics, display technologies, or related industries. Experience with Avionics products such as Displays & Graphics, Flight Management, Flight Planning, Flight Controls, PFDs, TCAS, CAS, Terrain, Radios, etc. Experience operating in an Agile framework. Knowledge of software configuration management and change management practices. Ability to quickly analyze, incorporate, and apply new information and concepts. Exposure to Rendering methodologies (Vulkan/OpenGL/OGLX) is a plus. The Business Unit
