Under close supervision, responsible for performing basic services on tractors, trailers, chassis, containers, and power equipment at customer sites or rail yards using a mobile service truck. Position may require working outdoors, in the elements, across multiple shifts including nights and weekends, and overtime. Full‑time attendance required. Key Responsibilities
Document damage to company equipment to support subrogation of repair costs. Perform CSA inspections under guidance of a certified technician as needed. Operate assigned service truck professionally and keep unit clean and well stocked. Perform minor repairs on chassis, frames, brackets, etc. Perform basic preventive maintenance tasks such as tire replacements, flat repairs, brake adjustments/services/replacements, electrical diagnostics, and structural repairs on trailer chassis and sub‑frames. Accurately complete work orders and other written materials per established procedures. Follow all safety requirements while at a customer or rail yard. Qualifications
Minimum 18 years of age for equipment up to 10,000 lbs or 21 years for equipment over 10,000 lbs. Clean motor vehicle record per J.B. Hunt guidelines. Ability to supply own basic tools or purchase through the toolbox purchase program. Willingness to work outdoors in the elements. Availability to work across multiple shifts, including nights and weekends, if needed. High School Diploma or GED equivalent with up to 1 year of experience in semi‑tractor or semi‑trailer maintenance and repair, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Forklift certification and experience. Effective communication and interpretation of ideas through various mediums. Ability to manage multiple priorities. Capability to work independently and as part of a team. Proficient computer skills and comfort with Microsoft Office suite. Efficient use of time and resources. Physical ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs and wear appropriate protective gear/PPE. Not eligible for employment‑based sponsorship. Compensation
Starting pay may vary based on skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications. Position may be eligible for an annual bonus and incentives based on profitability or volumes per the company’s bonus and incentive plans. Benefits
