Safety Program Administration: Maintain safety policies, procedures, and records (incidents, inspections, and training). Stay current on regulations to keep the company compliant. Act as the main contact for employee safety concerns. Inspections & Risk Assessment: Perform regular site inspections and hazard assessments. Investigate incidents and near misses, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions. Track safety trends to improve performance. Training & Communication: Deliver safety orientations, toolbox talks, and ongoing training. Work with supervisors and crews to ensure safety protocols are followed. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with OSHA and industry standards. Monitor PPE use and ensure proper maintenance. Emergency Preparedness: Support planning and drills for emergency response and evacuation procedures. Electrical Safety: Enforce OSHA electrical safety standards. Ensure equipment is safe for use, proper PPE is worn, and employees follow lockout/tagout and safe work practices.
Additional duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skill and Abilities:
Knowledge of safety standards and best practices. Understanding of risk assessment methodologies. Expertise in personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements and usage. Familiarity with safety management systems and documentation processes. Current awareness of emerging safety technologies and industry trends. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated accomplishments in the following areas:
OSHA 30-hour certification or higher preferred; additional safety certifications (e.g., CSP, CHST) are a plus. Strong knowledge of OSHA standards, safety protocols, and industry best practices. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with employees at all levels. Ability to analyze data and prepare clear, concise reports. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and safety management software.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a combination relevant experience, preferred. 2+ years of experience in a safety or compliance-related role; experience in construction or electrical work is a plus.
Working Conditions: You will work in a typical office environment and on construction sites. When on construction job sites you will encounter typical construction conditions including extreme temperatures, noise, dust, mud debris, welding, leading edge, trenching, and shoring, sometimes in a confined space. You may be required to visit multiple locations during any one day. Benefits Overview: IME provides an industry-leading comprehensive benefits package.
