This position will be based out of our District Home Office in Cranford, NJ. Weeks Marine Construction's projects span across the NE region of the US. One of the many things that makes Week's culture unique is that we go where the work is, which exposes your career to abundant opportunities.
Responsibilities- Maintain healthy safety culture and compliance with company safety policy
- Be responsible for ensuring the project meets or exceeds its financial objectives, by overseeing and monitoring each stage of the development
- Coordinates daily/weekly meetings with all the area superintendents and project engineers to develop means and methods, schedule contracting needs and long lead delivery times
- Manage all field operations and work sequences in conjunction with the Project Executive
- Review project estimate or plan to determine estimated job cost, procedures for accomplishing the project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of the project
- Oversee and approve the monthly job cost updates and quarterly cash flow projections. Also, review, approve, and negotiate change orders
- Anticipate project needs with sufficient lead-time to avoid delays of production. Establishes work plan and staffing for each phase of the project, works closely with Project Executive and HR team to manage the relationship with staff and craft
- Form and lead an effective project management team, define and delegate management responsibilities, and set goals
- Review and control of work planning process by project team
- Resolve any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise
- Be an effective leader, communicate with department leads regarding work scopes
- Ensure project superintendents understand and execute the work as required
- Ensure safety, quality, and production are maintained
- Responsible for project closeout. Secure loose ends by finishing paperwork, obtaining retainages, supporting supervisors, and expediting claims
- Ability to travel and relocate as needed
- 10+ years' experience in all aspects of managing construction projects with a proven track record of successful outcomes - specifically working in Infrastructure, Bridges, Docks, and Marine.
- An undergraduate degree in construction engineering, construction management, or a related degree is preferred
- Ability to understand project scheduling and cost control, and to read and understand project owner specifications and engineering drawings
- Work independently as well as part of a team
- Strong work ethic - willing to do what it takes to get the job done
- Good attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Strong organization/time management skills
Base Compensation: $157,000/yr - $220,000/yr (Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
