Advanced Clinical Associate Daly City, CA 94014 Overview Salary Range $30.00 - $33.65 Hourly Description North East Medical Services (NEMS), a leading non-profit community health center in the San Francisco Bay Area, is seeking a passionate and dedicated Advanced Clinical Associate/Scribe to join our dynamic healthcare team. At NEMS, we are committed to providing culturally competent and comprehensive health services to the diverse Asian community and other underserved populations. As an Advanced Clinical Associate your primary role will be to work closely with our MD, NP and PA providers to accurately document the patients visit including the history, physical exam, family, social and past medical history, into the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. NEMS is developing a hybrid in-person/remote scribe program. Depending on clinical needs, the position may be a hybrid model (part time in person scribing/part time remote scribing from another clinic). Essential Job Functions
Transcribe medical charting for providers using appropriate medical terminology, both in a remote setting and in person setting as needed. Document all relevant aspects of the medical visit as directed by the provider directly into the electronic medical record. Assisting with teaching/educating the patient by retrieving the appropriate labs, scans, x-rays, results, handouts and displaying to the patient as directed by the provider. Assign appropriate ICD 10-CM, CPT and other codes to patient encounter as needed. Work closely with provider to verify accuracy and validity of documentation. Assist with operations and clinical workflows. Accurately document patient encounters in real-time into the EHR under physician supervision using appropriate medical terminology both in a remote and in-person setting as needed. Gain substantial knowledge in how to appropriately document patient history, physical exams, assessments, diagnostic results, medical procedures, treatment plans, medical opinions of consultants, diagnoses, medication/prescription information, and follow-up instructions Help with referrals. Assist with administration and documentation of clinical screens. Assist patient with navigating the clinic, pharmacy, follow up appointments, labs.
Performs other job duties as required by manager/supervisor. Qualifications
Completion of a Bachelor of Science degree. Must be proficient in using computers, Zoom, etc. Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Outlook. Typing speed of 50+ WPM. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Accurate and effective listening skills. Detail-oriented and problem-solving skills. Ability to take direction and to follow instructions. Ability to multi-task, organize and prioritize work under pressure Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, pathophysiology, pharmacology, CPT, ICD-10-CM or clinical documentation is preferred. Prior experience with an Electronic Health Record system is preferred. Prior customer service experience preferred. Prior experience in a medical field is a plus. Ability to float between other NEMS locations as needed to work remotely.
Language:
Must be able to fluently speak, read and write English. Must be able to fluently speak Cantonese and/or Mandarin. Fluent in other languages are an asset.
Status: This is an FLSA Non-exempt position. This is not an OSHA high-risk position.
