The Quality Assurance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing quality control operations, leading a team of quality inspectors and technicians, and ensuring all manufactured products meet established quality standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and the ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and train QA personnel in inspection techniques, quality standards, and operating procedures
Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions
Identify opportunities and support creation and implementation of plant processes and/or product improvement projects
Develop, review, and maintain quality documentation, including inspection plans and test procedures
Collaborate with production, engineering, and maintenance teams to address quality issues and implement corrective actions
Implement and maintain quality management systems
Ensure adherence to company quality policies and industry regulations
Schedule and assign work activities to ensure adequate coverage across all shifts
Collaborate with union representatives on quality-related matters and grievance resolution
Communicate with suppliers to address incoming material quality issues
Communicate with customers regarding quality requirements and complaint resolution
Participate in internal and external audits
Qualifications
An associate degree in quality management, quality engineering, or a combination of relevant education and experience
3+ years of quality assurance experience in a manufacturing environment
2+ years of supervisory or leadership experience
Strong understanding of Quality Management Systems (QMS) principles
Ability to coach, develop, support, and guide a team with technical skills
Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions
Demonstrated knowledge of measurement and testing equipment
Proficiency in quality tools and methodologies
Proficient in MS Office applications such as Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Understanding of manufacturing processes and production systems
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field
Experience with quality software systems and databases
Familiarity with regulatory requirements (FDA, OSHA, EPA as applicable)
Experience in union manufacturing environment
