Our clients include state and local government agencies, higher education institutions, K-12 systems, and commercial enterprises. We are a founder‑led organization generating $50M+ annually, with active growth investment in SLED and commercial markets across the DMV and Texas.
The Role We are hiring a Sales Account Executive to drive revenue across SLED (State, Local, and Education) and commercial enterprise accounts. This is a full‑cycle, individual contributor role. You own the deal from prospecting through close, and you own the account relationship after the ink is dry.
You will be expected to hold a credible conversation with a CIO or CISO about security and infrastructure needs without a vendor rep in the room, understand our OEM stack well enough to position competitively, and hunt net‑new business alongside expanding existing accounts.
You report to the Sales Director (or directly to the CEO until the Director seat is filled).
What You Will Own Sales Execution: Manage the full sales cycle for SLED and commercial accounts, from prospecting to close. Drive net‑new business and expand relationships within existing accounts. Build and maintain a disciplined, accurate pipeline.
Client Engagement: Serve as a trusted advisor to SLED decision‑makers and commercial stakeholders. Conduct needs assessments, propose tailored solutions, and ensure alignment between client needs and Squadra's two‑pillar cybersecurity and infrastructure capabilities.
Partner Collaboration: Work alongside OEM partners including Palo Alto, Cisco, CrowdStrike, Tenable, and others to co‑sell and generate pipeline. Understand and leverage cooperative purchasing vehicles and state procurement mechanisms where applicable.
Sales Operations: Manage the end‑to‑end sales process using HubSpot and NetSuite. Provide accurate and timely pipeline updates and forecasts to leadership.
Market Intelligence: Stay current on SLED and commercial procurement trends, cybersecurity threats, and competitor activity. Bring actionable feedback to leadership and OEM partners.
What We Need Required:
5-7 years of sales experience in SLED and/or commercial technology sectors
Demonstrated success managing complex, multi‑stakeholder sales cycles and consistently meeting or exceeding quota
In‑depth understanding of cybersecurity and IT infrastructure solutions
Experience in a VAR or systems integrator environment where you owned the quote, scope, and margin
Working knowledge of Palo Alto Networks and Cisco product lines at a use‑case level
Ability to hold a CIO‑level infrastructure conversation and a CISO‑level security conversation independently
CRM proficiency: HubSpot preferred, Salesforce acceptable
Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to convey technical information to non‑technical executives
Preferred:
Named relationships with SLED CIOs, CISOs, or IT procurement officers you can call this week
Experience with Zero Trust architecture, network segmentation, or hybrid workforce security solutions
Familiarity with cooperative purchasing vehicles: NASPO, state master contracts, or education procurement models
Existing network within DMV higher education institutions or Texas state/local agencies
Experience with secondary OEMs in the Squadra stack: CrowdStrike, Tenable, Armis, Splunk, SailPoint, or Okta
Why Squadra Squadra is one of the most technically respected cybersecurity and infrastructure integrators in the market. Joining Squadra means working with a high‑performing, engineering‑driven team on deals that matter, with direct access to executive leadership, top‑tier OEM partners, and a client list that includes marquee public sector institutions and commercial enterprises.
We are a 25‑person, founder‑led organization. If you want fewer layers, more ownership, and the ability to shape your territory from the ground up, this is the role.
Compensation Squadra offers a competitive base salary and performance‑based commission structure tied to commissionable margin, along with a comprehensive benefits package. Compensation details are discussed directly with finalists and are commensurate with experience and quota expectations.
