We are responsible for the end-to-end Guest experience for all technology & digitally led initiatives across Attractions & Entertainment, Food & Beverage, Resorts & Transportation, and Merchandise lines of business, as well as AI-related innovation.
This role sits in the Cast Tools & US Parks TechOps organization within US Parks & Resorts for Disney Experiences Technology. The Lead QA Engineer will report to the Quality Engineering Manager.
About The Role & Team:
Disney seeks forward-thinking technologists who are passionate about delivering quality products and enjoy working closely with developers and product owners on strategic and tactical challenges. The candidate should possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, be able to work independently as a self-starter, utilize good time management skills, and be able to work with a diverse team of talented individuals.
This Lead Quality Engineer position is responsible for ensuring our Products have a Test Strategy and the functional scope has adequate test coverage to meet Disney’s high standard of quality.
This includes estimations, User Story analysis, test design, test execution, audits, and metrics validation. This also includes strong collaboration with Product & Development teams to ensure the Requirements & Acceptance Criteria are testable in a non-Production environment.
The Lead will also evaluate and improve on standards, processes, and templates to optimize efficiency without sacrificing quality.
What You'll Do:
Impact higher-risk aspects, set priorities, review requirements, anddeterminescope and limitations of testing initiatives
Guide best-practices, standardization of processes,approachesand methodologies for multiple QA testing services, i.e.: SOA, unit, integration, functional, regression, acceptance, system, load, performance, smoke tests, and defect management
Lead test case creation plans andfacilitatereviews/inspections/approvals of test automation for continuous process improvement and reduction of product defects
Lead the documentation of defects, build and execute test plans, help debug and diagnose difficult to complex code issues in selected environments
Influence the Software Development Life Cycle process through collaboration with Infrastructure, DevelopmentOperationsand development teams
Promote andmaintainsolid technical relationships with QA Engineers and developers
Communicate, audit, review, and summarize reports, meeting standards and following best practices
Help engage around the estimation and planning of highly sophisticated scalable projects and their budget allocations
You will be expected to stay up to date with emerging technologies so you can make informed recommendations

Skills &
Qualifications:
Minimum7+years’of related work experience
Comfortable working in an agile environment
A visionary who motivates teams to excel and fosters creativity, consistently driving excellence in all endeavors

Experience with functional test case design & execution for web & mobile applications
Proficient in functional Test Suite & Defect management tools with a desire to further develop technicalexpertisein data engineering tools, methodologies, and emerging technologies
Ability to work independently and deliver on agreed upon timelines
A no line of code written without testing mindset
Strong time management skills with a history of meeting commitments
Preferred Qualifications:
Working knowledge of JIRA,qTest, MS Teams, & SharePoint
Knowledge of test technology trends and Web/Mobile debugging tools (i.e.AI, Charles Proxy)
A passionfor technology!
Required Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience

The hiring range for this position in Orlando, FL is $135,200 to $181,200 per year and in Glendale, CA is $141,900 to $190,300 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
