Facilitates and documents the flow of all patient specimens into and out of the laboratory. Prepares specimens and deliver to instrument workstations in preparation for processing on automated equipment by the Clinical Lab Scientists. Completes all patient and client billing and updates the computer workload files each day Following patient registration, meets and instructs patients in proper specimen collection techniques. Performs venipuncture or skin puncture on all patients at any of the hospital drawing stations: ER, Med/Surg, Mark Twain Convalescent Hospital, San Andreas Convalescent Hospital, Outpatient, etc. and records their test and patient information in laboratory computer system. Performs all clerical duties as requested by supervisor or laboratory need.

American Heart Association Basic Life Support - CPR, within 90 Days Phlebotomist: CA
Preferred
High School Graduate General Studies or GED Certificate Other Graduate of a Medical Assistant or Lab Assistant school preferred Any phlebotomist work, hospital experience preferred
