Provide Athletic Training Services to student athletes under the direction of the school physician or by written referral from a physician, and in accordance with state athletic training practice act. Assess injuries and provide emergency or continued care Apply protective or injury preventive devices such as tape, bandages, or braces to body parts such as ankles, fingers, or wrists Maintains and updates Athletic Emergency Action Plan (EAP) for all athletic locations. Assess and report the progress of recovering athletes to coaches and school nurses Advise athletes on the proper use of training room equipment as well as oversee the schedule of the Weightroom Plan and implement comprehensive athletic injury and illness prevention programs Travel with athletic teams in order to be available at sporting events (primarily Football and Playoff Games) Coordinate and oversee registration, concussion training and student physicals of all student athletes at Hudson High School and Quinn Middle School. Maintain accurate records of injuries, treatments and complete accident forms Other duties as assigned by the Athletics Director (including but not limited to, site administrator duties, inventory, purchasing, administrative support, etc.)
Qualifications:
Must hold NATABOC and Massachusetts State License Certification Must hold current CPR/AED/First Aid Certification Must be able to meet all physical demands of the everyday work load. Must be able to utilize computer and applicable tracking software. Must be available to work nights, weekends, school vacation weeks, and holidays in line with seasonal/playoff game schedule. Familiarity with MIAA rules and regulations per Sports Medicine Coverage and Athletic procedures preferred Successful completion of Criminal Records Check (CORI), and fingerprints
Work Year+ Benefits:
10-Month Position: This is a salaried position requiring a flexible work schedule. The work year typically runs from mid-August through early June, beginning approximately two weeks prior to the first student day of school. Hours will vary based on the athletic season, including occasional evening and weekend responsibilities as needed. The annual work calendar and schedule will be determined by the Director of Athletics. Salary Range: $60,000 - $70,000 Annual Travel stipend $1,500 3 personal days and 12 sick days prorated pursuant to date of hire. Licenses/Certifications: Certified Athletic Trainer Physical Demands: The physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Use strength to lift items needed to perform the functions of the job. Sit, stand and walk for required periods of time. The work requires the use of hands for simple grasping, pushing and pulling of arm controls and fine manipulations. The work is repetitive. The work, at times, requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching with the ability to lift, carry, push and pull light weights.
