Quality Assurance Technician Position:
Quality Assurance Lab Technician / Pre‑Op Inspector
Shift:
3rd Shift – 10:30 pm to 8 am (Sunday through Thursday)
Reports To:
Supervisor – Quality Assurance

SCOPE Provides administrative and clerical support to the QA Department.
Key Responsibilities
Performs daily thermometer and scale calibration verification; records keeping and logging.
Performs pre‑operational inspections on complex machinery.
Performs ATP swabbing and maintains the program.
Performs allergen swabbing and maintains the program.
Assists in environmental swabbing.
Performs any other task assigned to QA lab technicians.
Maintains and organizes results from fat and moisture testing, proof spreadsheet, and emails to the required group.
Maintains Foreign Materials log and spreadsheet.
Reviews and logs APTEAN quality records daily for failed tests or other trends.
Reviews records with external auditors within areas of responsibility.
Carrying out other support functions and activities as required.

Experience and Skill Requirements
High school diploma or GED.
Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably food industry.
Experience in Quality Assurance.
Ability to read and interpret laboratory instructions and procedure manuals.
Knowledge of GMPs, USDA, OSHA regulations and BRC requirements.
Must be trained in chemical usage and hazard communication.
Ability to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings and/or weekends.
Must be able to work in a 3640‑degree temperature facility.
Strong sense of urgency.
Skill in using a personal computer and various software applications.
Skill in being a self‑starter.
Ability to work in a team environment.
This position is onsite.
Physical/Environmental Factors
Repetitive hand motions, reaching, and lifting to 50 lbs.
Stand and walk most of the shift.
Frequently stoop, kneel, crawl, twist, bend, and lift various weights as needed.
Frequently climb ladders, steep inclines, and enter confined spaces.
Exposure to cold, humid environments with temperatures ranging from 40 to 90 °F.
Exposure to noise levels greater than 85 decibels.
Exposure to strong odors, including ammonia.
Exposure to slippery and wet conditions.
