Design Engineer I/II/Sr Location
Onsite, Moses Lake, WA Responsibilities
Assess and prioritize incoming project requests and assign them to appropriate teams, including oversight of quality and delivery. Implement technical projects in the design, development, testing, and documentation of heavy off‑road mobile equipment products. Perform design and analysis of steel and aluminum components, welded structures, and electrical and hydraulic control systems. Develop new designs from initial concept to implementation and improve existing designs. Verify and document compliance with applicable global and regional standards. Specify component and machine testing, create procedures, and detail testing processes. Work closely with the global design engineering team and sustain a dynamic and creative engineering work atmosphere. Document designs with solid part models, assemblies, and detailed drawings in SolidWorks. Verify designs using traditional analytical methods in conjunction with dynamic and finite element analysis software. Create and maintain complete machine product structures, including bills of materials, models and options, and service parts information. Research, specify, and test manufactured and purchased parts in collaboration with the materials group and suppliers. Maintain a focus on design for manufacturability and work closely with global manufacturing teams and production facilities to assist in product and process improvements. Qualifications
ABET or equivalent accredited B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field. Experience: Level I – no relevant engineering experience; Level II – 3 years’ relevant experience; Senior – 5+ years’ relevant experience. Preferred: 5+ years of experience in machine design or related industry; supervisory experience. Strong orientation toward safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Proficient with solid modeling (SolidWorks preferred) and PC skills including Excel and Word. Ability to follow sequenced work associated with complex design tasks. Demonstrates technical leadership within a team and effectively leads project teams. Understanding across multiple engineering areas; advanced understanding in a specific area such as Mechanical Design, Hydraulic Systems, or Electrical Systems. Experience applying engineering principles to solve complex problems with little or no guidance, identifying and working through multi‑disciplinary technical problems independently. Demonstrated experience leading projects; ability to develop project schedules and execute to plan. Experience effectively prioritizing, assigning, and overseeing delegated projects within an engineering team. Salary
The salary range for this position is $80,000 – $113,000 annually, based on factors such as education, work experience, and certifications. Benefits
