Job Summary Title: Data Analytics Specialist – Information Technology Specialist I Division: CalSTRS Enterprise IT Solutions and Innovation Division, Data Services & Reporting Team Salary: $6,513.00 – $10,537.00 per month (classification A‑C) Filing Deadline: 7/2/2026
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and support data analytics solutions, including business intelligence use cases and data warehouse components.
Implement and maintain cloud‑managed services on the CalSTRS Analytic Platform.
Provide production support, troubleshooting, and performance tuning for data‑related systems.
Develop and maintain documentation, technical reports, and user guides.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to gather requirements and deliver data insights.
Qualifications
Strong communication skills for explaining analytical concepts to diverse audiences.
Experience with Power BI or Tableau for data visualization.
Proficient in ETL processes, database development, data modeling, and warehousing.
Working knowledge of Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud platforms.
Excellent documentation, technical writing, organization, and time‑management skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively in enterprise‑wide teams.
Salary and Benefits Salary ranges:
Classification A: $6,513.00 – $8,729.00
Classification B: $7,163.00 – $9,599.00
Classification C: $7,864.00 – $10,537.00
Monthly base pay may be reduced 3% under the Personal Leave Program 2025 in exchange for leave credits. Benefits include remote work options, medical, dental and vision insurance, paid holidays, defined‑benefit retirement plans, and paid vacation/sick leave (more than four weeks for leaders, more than three weeks for staff).
Working Conditions Hybrid work model combining in‑office and remote locations based on business needs. Remote work requires a current California address for tax purposes.
