Student Worker - Design and Construction - Temporary Position Summary The Part Time Facilities Design & Construction Assistant provides support in the operation of the Design & Construction Department under Facilities Management during a temporary 16‑week assignment beginning summer 2026.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
Call vendors and coordinate finish samples in the library.
Organize computer files and update documents using MS Office.
Assist in meeting with contractors on site.
Familiarize with current projects and understand the scope of work.
Measure rooms and inventory spaces on campus.
Demonstrate strong attention to detail in a fast‑paced environment.
Utilize technology, including AI‑enabled tools, to support duties and maintain confidentiality.
Perform other functions as requested by the supervisor.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
Work in an office and on campus sites.
Ability to sit, stand, or walk for moderate periods.
Must be able to push, pull, or lift up to 20 pounds.
Must be able to read floor plans.
Minimum Qualifications
High School graduate or GED equivalent.
Basic word processing, database, and email skills using MS Office.
Keyboard proficiency and screen reading ability.
Comfortable with emerging AI‑supported tools and able to evaluate AI outputs with confidentiality and ethical judgment.
Valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with design and construction projects.
Knowledge of campus facilities and construction terminology.
Salary: $17.21 per hour.
