The Vessel Fabricator position is responsible for fabrication of vessel and pipe nozzles.
Essential Functions: Read and understand vessel isometric drawings Build all the vessel pieces by the drawings and standards for each job Layout, torch cut, grind, tack weld and operate overhead cranes Follow all work instructions given by the Production Supervisor and/or QC Inspector Perform all work in a safe manner in accordance to Cortex safety policies and procedures Actively promote and personally observe all company policies, employee handbook, safety and security procedures Comply with company work schedule, including but not limited to overtime, evenings, weekends and holidays as necessary
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Ability to tack weld Ability to torch cut Ability to operate overhead crane Ability to use critical thinking to solve problems Ability to work well with management, customers, inspectors and other shop workers Ability to read and understand fabrication drawings Basic math
Preferred Qualifications: High school diploma, GED or equivalent 2 years of welding experience 0-2 years of experience welding or tack welding At least one year of experience in a manufacturing or similar work environment
