Location: Coastal Carolina Medical Center - 1000 Medical Center Dr, Hardeeville, SC 29927 Schedule: 3x12 or 4x10 schedule, 6:30 am-7:00 pm, Call 4x a month and weekend rotation Status: Full Time Coastal Carolina Medical Center is the first hospital in South Carolina to achieve Center of Excellence in Robotic Surgery We use the da Vinci Surgical System , which allows for minimally invasive procedures through small incisions Recognized by the American Heart Association with a Gold Plus– Stroke award for its stroke care. We specialize in: Robotics for all General Surgery, Urological and Gynecology needs Hernia Repairs Gall bladder and Appendix Bowel Resections Port Placement and Removals Total Joint Replacements Arthroscopy Surgery Treatment of fractures Urological Treatment for Stones Gynecological Surgery hysteroscopies ablations Pain therapy EGD's and Colonoscopies What We're Looking For:
Qualifications
Education
Education Level Required/Preferred Description High School or GED Required Graduate of an accredited School of Surgical Technology program or Military Training Equivalent (68D– Operating Room Specialist). For incumbents who are not graduates of an accredited School of Surgical Technology or have certification please see additional skills required. Online Surgical Tech program credits will not be accepted.
Experience
Years of Experience Required/Preferred Description Preferred Previous Surgical Technologist experience.
Current Surgical Tech Certification Preferred Current Surgical Tech Certification - based on state specific regulations (South Carolina Region Only) Required
For incumbents who are not graduates of an accredited School of Surgical Technology or have certification the following additional requirements apply: new graduates must obtain certification within 12months of hire. Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skill validation and competency testing. Demonstrate effective and appropriate customer service skills, verbal and nonverbal communication techniques, interpersonal relationship skills, and time management skills. One to two years of experience in sterile processing or equivalent training if assigned solely to sterile processing. What You'll Do:
Responsibilities The Certified Surgical Technologist works under the supervision of a surgeon and registered nurse to facilitate the safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical procedures, ensuring that the operating room environment is safe, that equipment functions properly, and that the operative procedure is conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety. Certified surgical technologists possess expertise in the theory and application of sterile and aseptic techniques and combine the knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures, and implementation tools and technologies to facilitate a physician's performance of invasive therapeutic and diagnostic procedures.
