The Quality Assurance Supervisor in Franklin, WI will be a key stakeholder for a new 340,000 square foot conversion facility slated to open in 2023 and will play an integral part of Saputo’s strategy to optimize its cheese network in North America. Key Responsibilities
Lead and direct the laboratory team to ensure product quality, food safety, and productivity. Establish and enforce procedures for product quality, employee safety, and compliance with state and federal regulations. Support quality assurance systems: process evaluation, product protection programs, sanitation, HACCP, GMP, labeling, storage, and distribution. Coordinate work schedules, estimate labor hours, and maintain continuous lab coverage. Conduct internal and external audits, review records, and report variances. Perform root cause analysis of work, quality, and food safety variations and recommend improvements. Maintain quality and food safety records and collaborate with other supervisors to align departmental activities. Supervise scheduling, daily activities, performance management, coaching, and compliance with company policies. Review and update product testing procedures and train employees on standards and policies. Participate in grievance or contract discussions if a collective bargaining agreement exists. Adhere to Saputo Code of Ethics and apply company values. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a science‑based field (e.g., Microbiology, Food Science, Dairy Science) preferred or a minimum of 2 years of laboratory lead experience in dairy manufacturing. Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices, sanitation, and quality policies. Experience leading teams and enforcing safety and security policies. Proficient in Microsoft Office, LIMS, and SAP preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational and prioritization ability with attention to detail. Leadership skills: coaching, motivating, developing, and retaining a team. Ability to analyze data, define problems, and draw conclusions. Understanding of cost containment and budgetary principles. Physical ability to work in a manufacturing environment and lift up to 40 lbs unassisted. Flexible schedule, including weekends, to support plant operations. Benefits
