As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the design and support implementation of PLC-based control systems and panels for a leading manufacturer in the material handling industry. Duties and Responsibilities
Design control panels using various software packages such as AutoCAD. Prepares field component layout including conveyor layout and sectionalizes conveyor per control systems requirement. Selects programmable controller best suited for project according to I/O requirements, memory requirements and customer requirements. Designs and specs motor and control circuits in accordance with UL508A specifications. Generates bill of materials required for control panel, consoles and field components. Completes production order notifying manufacturing group as what items need manufactured, wired and pre-wired. Support building and wiring of control panels. Submits layout sketch, schematics sketch, bill of materials and production work sheet to drafting department. Reviews preliminary drawings and bills of material and makes changes and corrections as required. Coordinate needs, such as interfaces, with other vendors. Provides telephone support for field installation and troubleshooting. Handles customer service problems as required. Work overtime as required. Education and Experience
Electrical Engineering degree with an emphasis on Industrial Control Systems (Associates or Bachelors) or 6 years of related industry experience. Experience motion controls and servos Allen Bradley Control, Compact Logix, and SL C 500. HMI Experience with Rockwell or other HMI’s Technical Skills
Experience with PLC controls such as Allen Bradley, IFM, Siemens and Sick optic. A good knowledge base of UL standards Knowledge in NEC code Experience with AutoCAD Electrical 2018 and newer Microsoft Office and Excel Ability to understand basic mechanical and electrical schematic drawings. Bonus for NR12 Experience Basic understanding of OSHA standards Ability to work well with others. Ability to interface well with customers and vendors. Work in an office setting and ability to work overtime if the project requires. Additional Information
