Overall sales and relationship management for existing and prospective customers in the assigned territory
Pursue new customers
Research industry and market trends impacting restaurants Identify and research prospective customers Develop sales strategies highlighting products, services, values, and solutions offered by Gordon Food Service Present sales strategies to prospective customers
Deepen and strengthen existing customer relationships
Visit all customers within the territory on a weekly, bi‑weekly, or monthly basis Conduct business reviews to determine needs and growth opportunities Provide ongoing training on Gordon Food Service product offerings Identify opportunities where Gordon Food Service can add value through additional products and services
Sales territory management
Balance new customer acquisition with strengthening existing relationships Coordinate visits to prospective and existing customers Communicate order status and processing updates to customers
Training – Getting You Ready
Engagement with e‑learning, job shadowing, and mentorship opportunities Use of Gordon Food Service systems, processes, and tools to manage customer relationships Knowledge of products available to customers Understanding of the sales process for engaging new customers Best practices for establishing relationships in the Gordon Food Service network Strategies for effectively managing your territory Position Requirements
High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree and/or culinary certificate preferred At least 1 year of prior sales, business, or food service experience Valid state driver’s license with a safe driving record Ability to obtain food safety certification If currently employed by a Gordon Food Service customer, a letter of support from management must be provided if selected for interview Veterans and active military members are encouraged to apply Equal Employment Opportunity
