Key Job Responsibilities
Work closely with the Global Constructability team and the global Construction Management teams to ensure consistency of approach
Drive practical constructability standards in design documentation
Drive commissionability improvements in our designs
Drive process improvements in the hand off from design to construction/commissioning
Optimise the engineering input post design completion – driving consistent roles, responsibilities, and accountability
Work closely with regional engineering teams to drive consistency
Act as the initial point of escalation for complex constructability issues
Commit to 25% regional travel, sometimes unplanned
A day in the life As a Senior Constructability Engineer you will be involved in the entire process of a project, from site selection all the way through into operations. You will act as a conduit between Design Engineering and all other teams, providing pragmatic and practical engineering‑based support. Delivery issues will be presented to you and you will actively seek to recognise problems and develop solutions, requiring a thorough understanding of design and construction processes to enable robust and manageable solutions for the AWS business.
Basic Qualifications
6+ years of data center design, construction, operations, or facility maintenance experience
6+ years of industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities, including but not limited to data centers, power generation, or oil and gas facilities
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
Knowledge of critical data center mechanical and electrical equipment
Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods of data center equipment and facilities
Preferred Qualifications
Professional Engineering or Architectural License
Knowledge of building codes and regulations for your region
Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment or mass production
Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents
Salary range: USA, VA, Herndon – $136,600.00 to $184,800.00 USD annually; USA, WA, Seattle – $136,600.00 to $184,800.00 USD annually.
