Job Summary Provide analytical and budgeting support, financial and operational analyses, develop reports, and collaborate with program and departmental stakeholders across the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences and Texas Child Mental Healthcare Consortium (TMHCC).
Responsibilities
Analyze revenue, expenditures, and resource utilization to ensure budget alignment.
Perform variance analysis and identify financial trends.
Confirm transaction coding accuracy and monitor programmatic expenses.
Collaborate with finance and program teams to ensure accurate ledger entries.
Support budget preparation and forecasting activities.
Identify inefficiencies and bottlenecks in workflows and develop process improvement strategies.
Conduct audits and create workflow charts and models to visualize opportunities.
Document process improvements and maintain records of changes and outcomes.
Develop and maintain dashboards using MS Power BI or similar tools.
Prepare standard and ad‑hoc reports for internal stakeholders and translate complex data into actionable insights.
Automate recurring reports and data workflows to improve efficiency.
Ensure data integrity and consistency across reporting systems.
Provide analytic support for program reviews and strategic initiatives and build financial models.
Assist with program financials including budget development, monitoring financial performance, compliance, preparing documentation for program reporting and audits.
Track effort reporting, allowable expenses, and regulatory requirements.
Communicate findings and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders, provide status updates on deliverables.
Build relationships across departments, participate in meetings and workshops, and ensure alignment with organizational standards and procedures.
Participate in special projects or task forces, assist with vendor setup and contract review processes, support training and onboarding of new staff on analytics tools, attend professional development workshops and conferences as needed.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
Minimum 2 years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting, business operations, or data analytics.
Proficiency in MS Excel.
Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions using data, evaluate root causes of operational issues, and prioritize data‑driven recommendations.
Strong communication skills and ability to tailor communication to different audiences.
Ability to analyze multifaceted problems and synthesize solutions, manage complexity, and develop dashboards to simplify complex metrics.
Business insight: understand how organizations operate, align analysis with strategic goals, monitor trends, and identify cost‑saving opportunities.
Preferred Qualifications
3+ years of experience in healthcare, academic, or research settings.
Experience with MS Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or ERP systems.
Familiarity with sponsored projects, clinical trials, or clinical operations.
Professional certifications: Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst Professional, Tableau Desktop Specialist, Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP).
Salary $68,000 + depending on qualifications.
