Does this sound like you? We are searching for Point Cloud Data Analysts who will work with the team to analyze a series of lidar scans that, when aligned correctly, create a map of a portion of a railway. Automated tools align the scans, but there are often inconsistencies. Your work will consist of verifying the output of the automated tools and, if necessary, manually adjusting individual scans until they overlap seamlessly. No engineering background is required for this position. The most important skills for this role are patience and a keen eye for detail.
Here’s what you’ll be doing:
Using provided software tools to manually adjust the position and rotation of frames that didn't align automatically, matching reference points until the geometry lines up cleanly.
Work through large batches of frames methodically, checking work section by section.
Maintain a consistent standard of output quality across long sessions, even when the task is repetitive.
Skills
Very detail oriented
Strong, systematic approach to work
Ability to pick up software tools quickly
Can focus on detailed, repetitive work for long periods of time
Nice to have
Proven ability to meet output targets without sacrificing accuracy
Experience in a role that required sustained precision — quality control, editing, technical illustration, or similar
Background working with spatial data or 3D software (hobby level included)
