Business Analyst (Non-IT) / Business Operations Specialist
Job Description
This role serves as a business operations specialist and non‑IT business analyst, supporting supply chain and logistics activities while maintaining strong vendor relationships. The position focuses on tracking and tracing materials from suppliers to manufacturing facilities, analyzing inbound transportation, and supporting project management processes such as budgets, timelines, and metrics. The specialist operates between administrative and management levels, collaborating closely with project managers, supply chain teams, and carriers to ensure timely delivery, accurate reporting, and effective business processes.
Responsibilities
Establish and maintain clear communication channels across business units and between project teams and the wider organization.
Maintain organized storage and efficient retrieval of all project communications, data, and business metrics.
Review contracts, cost proposals, and contract supplements to support sound business and financial decisions.
Set up project structures and work breakdown structures to support effective project planning and execution.
Establish, document, and refine business processes to improve consistency, transparency, and efficiency.
Track project budgets and expenditures, monitoring transaction controls and costs against approved budgets.
Assist supply chain and logistics teams in moving, tracking, and tracing material from suppliers to manufacturing facilities to meet desired delivery dates and times.
Analyze and track inbound transportation performance, identifying trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement.
Work directly with carriers to resolve transportation and delivery issues in a timely and professional manner.
Use SAP and other applications to generate, interpret, and maintain reports that support operational and project decisions.
Apply accounting and mathematical principles as needed to support financial analysis and budget tracking.
Analyze business trends to help project future revenues and expenses and support planning activities.
Work independently to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
Provide excellent customer service and maintain strong interpersonal relationships with internal teams, suppliers, and external partners.
Essential Skills

Ability to analyze business trends and project future revenues and expenses.
Proficiency with computer applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel, including strong Excel skills and data mining capabilities.
Data analytics skills to interpret, visualize, and draw insights from operational and transportation data.
Problem‑solving skills to identify root causes and implement practical solutions in supply chain and project environments.
Good communication skills to interact with cross‑functional teams, suppliers, carriers, and other stakeholders.
Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining quality and accuracy.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business management, economics, finance, human resources, supply chain, or a related field.
0–2 years of related experience in business operations, supply chain, logistics, or a similar analytical role.
Experience in a Transportation Analyst or comparable role is beneficial.
Internship experience is accepted as relevant job experience.
Experience working with SAP or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
Experience with data mining and advanced Excel functions (such as pivot tables, lookups, and dashboards) is highly desirable.
Familiarity with project management processes, including setting goals, tracking deadlines, and monitoring metrics and budgets.
Comfort working with carriers, suppliers, and cross‑functional teams to resolve operational issues.
Work Environment
The role operates in a professional office and supply chain environment that is highly data‑driven and collaborative. You will work closely with supply chain, logistics, and project management teams, as well as external carriers and suppliers. Daily work involves extensive use of Microsoft Excel, Word, SAP, and other reporting and analytical tools to track materials, monitor inbound transportation, and manage project metrics and budgets. The position typically follows standard business hours, with the need to manage time effectively to meet project deadlines and delivery schedules. The environment emphasizes clear communication, independent work, and accountability, offering opportunities to contribute directly to operational efficiency and on‑time delivery performance.

Pay & Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 – $22.00 per hour.
