The ideal candidate will have extensive experience administering Microsoft SQL Server databases within a manufacturing environment, along with exposure to ERP and WMS systems. This position is responsible for ensuring database reliability, performance, security, and availability while supporting critical business applications and data-driven decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Administer, monitor, maintain, and optimize Microsoft SQL Server environments.
Perform database installation, configuration, upgrades, and patch management.
Implement and manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
Monitor database performance and execute tuning and optimization initiatives.
Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues to minimize downtime.
Manage database security, user access, and compliance requirements.
Support high-availability solutions including Always On Availability Groups, clustering, and replication.
Maintain and enhance enterprise data warehouses and reporting environments.
Develop automation solutions using PowerShell and T‑SQL.
Support EDI production processes and integrations.
Maintain and support Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and business teams on database initiatives.
Analyze and support ERP system data, with emphasis on Epicor Kinetic environments.
Create reports, dashboards, and business intelligence solutions to support operational needs.
Perform additional duties and projects as assigned by IT Management.
Required Qualifications
5+ years of Microsoft SQL Server Database Administration experience.
5+ years of database analysis experience within a manufacturing environment.
Experience supporting ERP systems, preferably Epicor ERP/Kinetic.
Strong knowledge of:
SQL Server Administration
Performance Monitoring and Tuning
SQL Query Optimization
Backup, Recovery, and Disaster Recovery
Database Security and Compliance
High Availability Solutions (Always On, Clustering, Replication)
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including:
Data Modeling
Data Analysis
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
Preferred Qualifications
Epicor Kinetic ERP experience in a manufacturing environment.
Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
Experience supporting EDI production processes.
Knowledge of DevOps practices.
Programming experience with Python, Java, JSON, or related technologies.
Experience with data warehouse architecture and business intelligence reporting.
