A well-established construction equipment rental business serving the greater Austin & San Antonio markets is hiring its very first Outside Sales Representative. After many years building a strong reputation in the region, the company is ready to stand up a dedicated sales function, and this is the ground-floor seat. We’re looking for someone with real character, high energy, a relentless work ethic, and a genuine competitive streak. In this role, you’ll own new business development and build lasting relationships with clients. It’s an ideal fit for a self-starter who communicates sharply in writing and in person, performs well under pressure, and is willing to get their hands dirty to get the job done. You’ll start with a two-week immersion in the equipment and product line, then work shoulder-to-shoulder with the company’s President to learn the market, the customer base, and the strategy for growing market share. The company will offer a first-year guarantee aligned with your experience and earnings history. Over time, the role moves to a base salary plus uncapped monthly commission tied to revenue, along with a truck allowance + fuel card + covered maintenance. This position reports directly to the President. What You’ll Do
Source and qualify new leads through cold outreach, networking events, and referrals Run in-person sales meetings with prospects and customers in a highly competitive field Build and maintain strong relationships with existing accounts to keep customers satisfied and coming back Identify customer needs and match them with the right solutions Track sales activity and manage accounts in the CRM (Salesforce), and review your pipeline with the President each week Stay current on market trends and competitor activity Negotiate contracts and pricing terms What We’re Looking For
Standout interpersonal and communication skills Strong self-discipline, a tireless motor, and a sharp sense of urgency Able to juggle and manage a high volume of accounts Open to delivering and picking up equipment when the situation calls for it At least two years of outside sales experience Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record If you’re a self-motivated competitor who loves working with people and is driven to win, we’d like to hear from you.
