Responsibilities
Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), DOT Inspections and follow-up repairs on light, medium and heavy‑duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
Perform minor adjustments and repairs on various truck equipment, including electrical, brake, cooling systems, starters, alternators, fan clutches, engine electronics, diesel steering systems, engines (gas and diesel), transmissions, clutches, and differentials.
Diagnose, adjust, and repair various truck equipment, using test instruments such as handheld computers, pressure gauges, and other diagnostic tools.
Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions.
Road‑test vehicles to verify proper operation.
Identify problems, evaluate alternatives, and determine the best course of action.
Independently manage parts inventory and equipment on the company‑issued service truck, performing periodic reconciliation.
Maintain and operate the company‑issued service vehicle, conducting safety checks and pre/post‑trip inspections.
Work effectively with clients to assess their needs and resolve issues.
Manage concurrent assigned tasks while prioritizing work activities and time allocation.
Use hand tools, precision instruments, diesel tools, welding equipment, lifts, and jacks.
Document work according to company standards, uploading pictures and details on Repair Orders (RO) using the company iOS device and TRAIT application.
Complete DOT forms and other documentation in a timely manner.
Work with a high degree of independence and manage own daily schedule.
Maintain a high level of productivity and meet standard repair times.
Obtain parts from approved vendors as necessary.
Communicate with management and support teams via email or phone for repair estimates and approvals.
Perform all work in compliance with safety, health, environmental policies, and federal regulations (OSHA, EPA, DOT).
Maintain the company‑issued service truck and conduct safety inspections.
Requirements
High School Diploma / GED and 3 years’ experience in a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
At least 3 years of experience with refrigerated equipment.
Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform job duties.
OEM training and certifications are preferred.
Participate in and complete all company‑required training.
The position follows DOT regulations; candidates must complete a DOT‑regulated background screening and DOT physical.
Maintain a valid DOT medical card with at least four months remaining until expiration, or complete a DOT physical if less than four months remain.
Must be at least 21 years old and hold a valid state driver’s license with a clean Driver Qualification File.
