Essential Duties and Responsibilities The Total Access Specialist / Senior Account Specialist will retain existing customer sales, drive gross margin growth, and new customer attainment by managing a portfolio of customers and prospects that comprises the Associate’s “Territory”. Business will be gained through proactive customer touch, effective negotiation, and deliberate territory planning using the company’s CRM system.
Responsibilities include:
Make proactive telephone calls to stay connected with existing customers and pursue new account prospect opportunities.
Maintain regular customer contact, aiming to be on the phone with customers approximately 40% of the day.
Receive inbound calls from customers and provide courteous, professional service to ensure a high quality experience.
Negotiate fair pricing while protecting company profitability.
Attend required training sessions to stay current on product knowledge, sales skills, and software changes.
Document sales quotes and orders using SAP.
Accommodate customer returns and credits, working with the Credit Department to keep accounts current.
Use Salesforce.com to log accurate contact information, capture customer data, and manage retention and growth opportunities.
Log cases that illustrate business at risk or lost opportunities.
Utilize value‑added tools such as emarket capabilities, airgas.com, marketing materials, and the Field Specialist Network when needed.
Collaborate with Sales Managers to enhance call techniques and self‑monitor performance.
Strategize on budgeting, territory planning, and assist with training or mentoring peers upon request.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Strong self‑motivation.
Ability to interact well with others.
Ability to work well as a member of a team.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to work independently and under pressure to meet deadlines.
Occasional travel required.
Preferred Qualifications
College degree preferred.
Industrial distribution or knowledge of PPE, welding, and gases preferred.
