Über

BTI is seeking a motivated, skilled Sales Engineering Professional capable of selling custom Precision Measurement and Test Equipment to manufacturing companies around the globe. The Sales Engineer will be responsible for interpreting plans and specifications, preparing accurate and timely quotations, and providing technical support. This role involves coordinating with customers, warehouses, and manufacturing partners to ensure seamless product delivery, while proactively identifying new sales opportunities and following up to secure orders.
JOB RESPONSIBILITY
Management of the entire sales process from start to finish
Review and interpret customer RFQ’s, specifications, and part prints to create accurate estimates.
Understand customer decision factors, aligning those with BTI competencies, and presenting a compelling value proposition internally and to the customer.
Create quotations that ensure customer requirements are met
Negotiate commercial and technical aspects of the project
“Go-To” person for customer technical questions and commercial issues.
Develop and maintain customer relationships to create qualified business opportunities.
Relate technical information to non-technical people
Identify new areas of growth for the business and think creatively to meet the customer’s requirements
Consistent achievement of sales goals
Presenting product technology to customers
Cold Calling
Follow up on all assigned leads and enter the results in the company’s CRM system.
Critical thinking skills and the ability to lead a team of people from multiple disciplines, without direct authority, to resolve an issue.
DESIRED SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
3+ years’ experience in technical sales in a technical environment preferred
Exposure to precision measurement systems, automation, production, manufacturing processes, and statistical analysis are beneficial but not required.
Energetic and motivated self-starter with strong work ethic
Strong technical communication skills (oral and written)
Negotiating skills and commercial understanding are important
Attention to detail is imperative as is the ability to reconcile discrepancies in multiple documents
Ability to travel on occasion to customer site
