Drive sales and contribute to store sales goals through selling furniture, accessories, and services. Promote the Design program and assist designers to achieve sales goals. Consistently execute the La‑Z‑Boy selling process and provide a favorable experience to all customers. Develop and utilize sales skills and principles including approach, rapport building, needs discovery, customized portfolio presentations, answering objections, closing, follow‑up, after‑sale service, and continued contact with all previous and potential customers. Maximize store promotions, marketing initiatives, and grassroots programs. Maintain knowledge of features and benefits of all product lines. Schedule home consultations to present customized room designs, including sample fabrics, furniture, tables, and accessory recommendations, and benefits of professional installation service. Execute and champion the Design process following company guidelines. Support design related functions in the store. Provide the highest level of customer service to all customers, using good customer service skills and product knowledge while following the selling process. Use Podium to ensure customer satisfaction and future follow‑up. Make sound business decisions to promote customer satisfaction and a team environment. Respond to phone calls and emails, handle customer issues and complaints, and provide appropriate solutions. Maintain positive relationships with all store employees. Assist in training, coaching, and developing new peers on product knowledge and selling processes. Promote a culture of sales and service. Assist with visual appearance of the store, including floor display, tagging, catalog maintenance, and general cleanliness. Accurately complete order information, collect deposits and fees, keep orderly customer records, and research payments and deliveries. Accurately complete daily On‑Point system logs. Schedule deliveries with customers. Open and close the store. Minimum Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent. Previous selling experience and ability to close a sale strongly preferred. Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills. Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport and positively influence. Demonstrated persuasion and negotiation skills. Ability to manage time and conflicting priorities. Teamwork ability. Work schedule as required by business needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Strong attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Preferred Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field. Compensation
Training pay: $16.50 per hour for 2–6 weeks (no commission). Post‑training base pay: $13 per hour (varies by store location). Uncapped commission: 3% on La‑Z‑Boy Design sales; 2% on other sales. Quarterly bonus opportunity: $0–$1,500 based on specific sales goals. Typical annual earnings: $36,000–$60,000 after training; $60,000–$80,000+ for top performers. Benefits
