Job Summary Cox Fleet is currently hiring a Light/Medium Duty Automotive Technician to join our recently acquired company, Corcoran Fleet Services. The technician will perform preventative maintenance inspections, light and follow‑up repairs, light mechanical/hydraulic/electrical and electronic diagnostics, licensed DOT inspections, and other duties assigned at customer locations. The role supports our growth and requires continuous learning of advanced mechanical skills and diagnostics.
Responsibilities
Work on light/medium duty vehicles such as F150, F250, F350 and specialty equipment.
Travel 100% of the time to service multiple customers; a rotating schedule of Mon‑Fri the first week and Mon‑Sat the second week.
Always follow safe operating practices and procedures.
Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), DOT inspections, follow‑up repairs, and routine maintenance such as oil changes, battery checks, and lubrication.
Use hand tools, precision instruments, diesel tools, lifts, and jacks.
Diagnose, adjust, and repair systems including electrical, brake, cooling, starter/alternator, fan clutches, engine electronics, transmissions, clutches, and differentiators.
Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment with scanners and pressure gauges.
Determine parts needed, order and pick up parts, and install them.
Maintain safety, health, and environmental compliance, including OSHA, EPA, and DOT.
Document work on Repair Orders, upload pictures and records, and complete DOT forms timely.
Keep the service vehicle safe, perform daily pre/post trip inspections, and maintain a clean work environment.
Communicate with support team for repair estimates, purchase orders, and safety training requirements.
Adhere to company policies, processes, and procedures.
Requirements
High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
Set of hand tools required.
At least 1 year of automotive technician experience for light/medium vehicles or equivalent education/experience.
2 years of experience in a similar technician role.
Participation in all company required training.
Skills & Abilities
Strong diagnostic and problem‑solving skills.
Physical ability to lift, bend, climb, and perform moderate heavy labor for extended periods.
Excellent communication and two‑way communication with individuals and groups.
Logical and reasoning ability to evaluate solutions, make judgments, and determine required tools.
