As an integral part of the Rumpke Human Resources team, Training Specialist‑Sales will act as a key enabler to implement Rumpke Sales Enablement initiatives for sales teams in their assigned area through in‑person, online and self‑paced learning opportunities. This role will own identification of training needs, contribute to training content development, deliver mandatory and developmental trainings, capture feedback on training efficacy, maintain training records, and work collaboratively with HR and Sales stakeholders. Reporting to the Sales Enablement Manager, this role focuses on elevating sales skills through multiple growth and development‑oriented engagements.
Responsibilities of Position
Onboarding & Development
Manage the monthly onboarding process for new sales hires, including training schedules, system access requirements, and structured 30/60/90‑day progress tracking to ensure successful integration into processes and expectations.
Training Planning & Delivery
Develop quarterly training plans in collaboration with Sales Managers to cover all identified sales team members based on skill gap analysis and stakeholder feedback.
Facilitate engaging training sessions aligned to the annual Sales Enablement Plan through in‑person and virtual delivery formats.
Track attendance and participation for all training initiatives.
Content & Program Development
Collaborate with the Sales Enablement Manager to develop and enhance training content for instructor‑led and self‑paced learning modules.
Maintain and update training materials to reflect evolving sales strategies, products, and market needs.
Performance Support & Coaching
Create and execute a monthly field observation plan to identify training gaps (e.g., ride‑alongs, live and recorded call reviews).
Work directly with sales representatives on performance improvement initiatives through classroom training, on‑the‑job learning, and coaching.
Learning & Adoption
Track and promote utilization of eLearning and on‑demand programs available in the LMS while gathering and analyzing feedback to measure training effectiveness and recommend improvements.
Continuous Improvement
Stay current on industry best practices in sales training, learning methodologies, and development trends. Apply modern learning strategies to increase engagement and retention.
Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position will not manage employees.
Skills & Abilities Needed for Position
Ability to work well with and gain the respect of field salespeople.
Strong ability to drive, collaborate, and manage a wide range of enablement initiatives.
Work in a fast‑paced environment and be passionate about sales and enabling others.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Strong business acumen, facilitation, problem‑solving, analytical, and presentation abilities.
Experience & Knowledge Needed for Position
3+ years of experience in outside sales roles.
Proven experience delivering training in both in‑person and virtual settings.
Experience collaborating on the development of training content, supplemental material, and leader’s guide.
Strong skills in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
Certifications in instructional design and experience with content authoring tools like Adobe Captivate, Articulate 360, etc. is a plus.
Physical Requirements in a Regular Workday
Occasionally lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling a max of 10 lbs.
Rarely lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling a max of 20 lbs.
Rarely working outside in changing temperatures, wet/humid conditions.
Rarely working in areas of dust, odors, mist, gases, and other airborne matter.
Frequently stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling.
Frequently climbing and/or balancing.
Frequently sitting/standing/walking.
Additional Working Conditions/Aspects
Ability to travel between offices, as required.
Legally eligible to work in the United States.
Valid driver's license (if applicable).
Must successfully complete pre‑employment testing.
Must be able to read and speak the English language.
