Overview Position Overview We are seeking a Network Engineer III to support the implementation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of enterprise network infrastructure within a mission-critical environment. This role is responsible for ensuring reliable connectivity across complex LAN/WAN environments while supporting network upgrades, deployments, and operational activities.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with multi-vendor network environments, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to independently perform network installations and support activities at remote locations.
Key Responsibilities
Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot routers, switches, firewalls, and related network infrastructure.
Monitor network performance, availability, and reliability, proactively identifying and resolving connectivity issues.
Support and implement routing, switching, and network security technologies across enterprise environments.
Troubleshoot network incidents involving LAN, WAN, and transport systems, performing root cause analysis and documenting findings.
Implement and support technologies including VLANs, OSPF, BGP, GRE tunnels, UDP multicast, and TCP/IP network architectures.
Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to support network upgrades, changes, and infrastructure modernization efforts.
Travel to remote locations to lead network installations, perform troubleshooting, and provide technical status updates.
Support critical operational activities, including occasional evening and weekend work as required.
Maintain technical documentation, network diagrams, and operational procedures.
Required Qualifications
Active Secret Security Clearance.
U.S. Citizenship required.
Ability to obtain and maintain a valid U.S. Passport.
Minimum 3 years of network engineering experience in enterprise or government environments.
IAT Level II certification (Security+, GSEC, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, or equivalent).
Current CCNA or JNCIA certification.
Strong understanding of:
OSI Model
TCP/IP Networking
OSPF and BGP Routing Protocols
LAN/WAN Architectures
Network Design and Testing Methodologies
Experience with network traffic analysis, diagnostics, and troubleshooting.
Experience administering and supporting:
Cisco and Juniper routing and switching platforms
Juniper, Palo Alto, and Fortinet firewalls
VLANs, GRE Tunnels, UDP Multicast
TACLANEs and optical transport technologies
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Visio and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications
Active Top Secret Clearance.
CCNP or JNCIP certification.
Experience with:
VMware NSX, vSAN, Foundation, and Aria
Network automation using Ansible
DoD cybersecurity requirements, including STIG compliance and accreditation activities
Experience supporting large-scale defense, aerospace, or mission-critical systems environments.
