Perpetual Motion NW (PMNW) is seeking a motivated self-starter who is passionate about the outdoors, and wants to be part of a dynamic and innovative sales group. The PMNW Sales and Inventory Planner will serve as a critical connector between business operations, data systems and our brands and retail partners. You will own preseason, in-season and post-season sales and inventory forecasting functions, while supporting data pipelines and reporting infrastructure that drives visibility across all brands. The ideal candidate is analytically sharp, highly organized, and comfortable operating in the dynamic intersection of retail strategy and data operations.

Reports to: Jason Rowley
Direct Reports: None. Planned Q4 2026 new hire will report to this position.
Channels Supported: Key Accounts, Specialty, Clearance
Location: Hybrid, Work from Home & Fall City Office
Key Responsibilities This role spans three core areas of ownership. The breakdown below reflects the scope of day to day work:
REI Planning Management
Manage timely and accurate preseason and at-once order book for brands
Manage forecasts for seasonal Go-To-Market milestones
Manage inventories through product lifecycle to drive successful seasonal product launches and exits
Monitor and report internally and externally sales and inventory performance for brands
Conduct In-stock reviews to optimize sales opportunities
Lead REI reoccurring and ad-hoc planning meetings
Manage seasonal Article Creation and PO Change tasks
Manage seasonal price changes and terms agreement negotiations
Develop and maintain awareness of seasonal products, target consumers, and competition
Support in staff servicing strategies, including forecasting of employee specials
PMNW Planning and Strategy
Support in overall PMNW business planning functions
Develop and implement strategies to drive growth in specialty channels
Data Pipeline and Systems
Execute weekly and seasonal data updates to maintain pipeline accuracy
Manage seasonal updates across brand item catalogs, key account seasonal assortment
What We’re Looking For
4-6+ years of experience in sales analytics, retail planning or channel business management – preferably within an outdoor, apparel or sporting goods brand
Demonstrated experience with retail account management in large-format retail (REI experience a strong plus)
Strength in forecasting methodologies, PO management workflows, and discount/pricing analysis.
Advanced skills in Excel and/or other data tools; Power BI and SQL experience preferred
Proficiency and interest utilizing AI tools for workflow and process optimization
Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills – able to translate data into clear business narrative
Analytical Rigor: Translates complex sales and inventory data into clear, actionable insights
Operational Excellence: Manages recurring and seasonal workflows with precision and consistency
Channel Expertise: Deep understanding of retail assortment planning rhythms, and servicing requirements.
Cross-Functional Communication: Effectively partners with brand, and planning teams; presents with clarity and confidence.

Forecasts are consistently accurate, timely and aligned with go-to-market calendars
Data pipelines run reliably with minimal manual intervention; seasonal updates are completed on schedule
REI Account relationship is proactively managed in support of our REI brands’ growth
Weekly and seasonal reporting delivers clear, trusted visibility into sales and inventory health across all brands.
