Key responsibilities include preparing drainage studies; developing roadway, pavement, and bridge designs; producing complex technical reports; and coordinating design inputs with internal staff and external stakeholders.
Required qualifications/skills:
Practical construction experience across diverse civil projects; supervisory/managerial decision-making experience preferred
Experience supervising engineers and/or construction inspectors
Strong proficiency with AutoCAD, MicroStation, Open Roads Designer, Open Bridge Modeler, and Civil 3D
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
Professional English communication (read/write/speak); Spanish-English bilingual skills may be required
Above-average customer service; able to handle sensitive matters with tact and diplomacy

A Typical Workday Your day is spent onsite, moving between focused design time and collaborative check-ins. You review evolving project needs, apply mature judgment to time-sensitive decisions, and refine plan sets to keep deliverables on track. Expect frequent coordination with governmental officials, private entities, and consultants, along with responsive communication to the public when questions or concerns arise. Sensitive topics are handled with discretion, and you’ll balance independent work with an interactive team environment to maintain clear documentation and steady progress from concept through submittal.
