Role Overview As a Blockchain Test Engineer at S.W.I.F.T., you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and security of our blockchain‑based solutions. Your responsibilities include designing, developing, and executing comprehensive test strategies to validate the functionality, performance, and integrity of distributed ledger technologies integrated into our financial messaging infrastructure. Responsibilities Design, develop, and implement robust test plans, test cases, and test scripts for blockchain applications, smart contracts, and related distributed systems. Execute functional, integration, performance, security, and regression testing tailored to blockchain environments. Test and integrate blockchain protocols and platforms, including Ethereum‑compatible networks (e.g., Hyperledger Besu), Cosmos, and Canton. Test smart contracts for correctness, security vulnerabilities, and edge cases. Collaborate closely with development teams and blockchain architects to understand technical specifications and ensure testability of features. Perform load, performance, and stress testing to assess scalability and transaction throughput. Validate blockchain network behavior, including consensus mechanisms, node synchronization, and fault tolerance. Test integrations with wallets, APIs, and backend services. Identify, document, and track software defects and work with development teams to ensure timely resolution. Develop and maintain automated test frameworks and tools to improve efficiency and coverage of blockchain testing. Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing processes, methodologies, and best practices within a blockchain context. Stay up‑to‑date with emerging blockchain technologies, testing tools, and industry trends. Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to enhance code quality and testability. Ensure adherence to S.W.I.F.T.'s quality standards and regulatory compliance requirements in all testing activities. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience in software quality assurance or testing with a significant focus on blockchain or distributed ledger technologies. Solid understanding of blockchain fundamentals, including consensus mechanisms (PoW, PoS, BFT), smart contracts, cryptography, and distributed system architectures. Proficiency in at least one programming language commonly used in blockchain development or testing (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Go, Java, Solidity). Experience with test automation frameworks and tools (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, Jest, Truffle, Hardhat). Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI). Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with meticulous attention to detail. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Experience with performance testing and security testing methodologies for distributed systems. Knowledge of financial services industry standards and regulatory frameworks. Salary & Benefits Estimated salary range in Virginia: $66,960.00–$124,354.00 annually. Compensation includes a competitive base salary, performance‑based bonus opportunities, and a generous benefits program that covers medical, dental, vision, and life insurance with no premium costs for employees and their families, as well as a retirement plan with 401(k) matching.
