The Project Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and delivering complex projects that support the infrastructure, technology, cybersecurity, and operational efficiency of our rail yard environments. This role leads cross-functional initiatives that enhance yard operations, modernize technology systems, improve workforce readiness, and strengthen the organization’s IT security posture. The Project Manager ensures all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with operational and strategic goals.
*Essential Responsibilities:*
* Lead planning and execution of infrastructure upgrades, including network architecture, communications systems, physical IT installations, yard management system enhancements, and critical operational equipment.
* Coordinate with engineering, facilities, operations, and vendors to manage requirements, timelines, and field deployment.
* Oversee site assessments, scheduling, resource allocation, construction/installation workflows, and risk mitigation for operationally sensitive environments.
* Ensure infrastructure solutions support reliability, uptime, and long‑term scalability.
* Manage rollout of new tools, software platforms, operational technology (OT), and process automation solutions within rail yard operations.
* Develop implementation plans including configuration, testing, pilot phases, change management, and full deployment.
* Partner with frontline teams and leadership to identify opportunities to increase efficiency, standardize processes, and eliminate manual work.
* Track performance improvements and ROI for technology-driven initiatives.
* Build and manage training programs for new technologies, systems, and operational procedures.
* Conduct stakeholder communication, readiness assessments, and adoption monitoring.
* Create documentation such as SOPs, job aids, and system guides tailored for operational teams.
* Ensure smooth transitions during rollouts by anticipating user challenges and coordinating support resources.
* Develop detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, hardware/software procurement lists, and resource needs.
* Track progress using PM methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, hybrid) appropriate to project type.
* Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure continuity of rail yard operations.
*Education and Experience Qualifications:*
* 3–7+ years of project management experience in infrastructure, operations, or industrial environments.
* Experience working in transportation, logistics, warehousing, utilities, manufacturing, rail, or similarly complex operational settings.
* Strong understanding of IT infrastructure (networks, servers, cabling, hardware installation) and digital tool implementation.
* Familiarity with cybersecurity principles and secure deployment practices.
* Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
* Proficiency with project management tools (MS Project, Planner, Jira, Smartsheet, etc.).
Pay: $100,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
