HPC Applications & Performance Engineer This role has been designed as “Onsite” with an expectation that you will primarily work from an HPE office. Responsibilities Provide pre‑ and post‑sales technical and benchmarking support for HPC or AI customer opportunities. Collaborate with product engineering, product management, and marketing to influence current and future product capabilities. Evaluate emerging technologies and assess their impact on product differentiation for key customer applications. Maintain current knowledge of HPE and competitor HPC/AI products and performance optimization techniques. Lead application‑focused performance studies and projects, and author technical reports and papers communicating findings and recommendations. Qualifications Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or equivalent. 7+ years of demonstrated experience with high‑end HPC systems and performance analysis/tuning of scalable HPC applications. Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, written, and verbal communication skills; mastery of English required. U.S. citizenship required. Preferred Qualifications Experience with large‑scale HPC systems and software. Experience with large‑scale AI systems and software. Detailed understanding of multiprocessor and GPU hardware architectures and parallel programming techniques (OpenMP, MPI, CUDA, HIP). Proficiency with key industry‑standard HPC benchmarks (HPL, HPCG, OSU MPI, NCCL/RCCL). Experience with performance projection methodologies to model performance of alternate system architectures. Compensation Annual salary USD 105,500 - 243,000 in Minnesota & Texas (base salary; variable incentives may also be offered).
