Job Summary / Basic Function This position will serve as the Academic Data Analyst for the Pacific‑Intermountain Network for Education in Semiconductors (PINES) award and efforts aligned with the National Network for Microelectronics Education (NNME) goals and reporting requirements. The role involves developing and maintaining a comprehensive data reporting system to assess disparities, enrollment trends, retention trends, course progress, and other areas of data analysis as needed. The ideal candidate will be a skilled multitasker with proven experience in data analysis and coordinating collaborations across multiple institutions, government agencies, non‑profit organizations, companies, and other stakeholders.
This is a temporary position (through July 2027) requiring an in‑person presence with 1–2 days remote/hybrid schedule. The position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
Essential Functions 60% of the time:
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to understand and provide data reporting needs for the PINES award and related programs.
Provide data‑driven insights and recommendations to support decision‑making on program enhancements and resource allocation.
Coordinate and manage systems to develop regular reporting packages throughout the academic year.
Coordinate with Business Intelligence Reporting Services (BIRS) to stay updated on university data reporting methods, platforms, and standards.
Generate data analysis reports and communications for university and external stakeholders.
Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and security of data and related documentation.
Keep abreast of advancements in data analysis techniques and relevant technology tools.
Participate in professional development activities, attend conferences, and engage in continuous learning.
30% of the time:
Use data insights to work with key stakeholders to identify best practices transferable across programs.
Monitor program progress, identify potential issues, and develop solutions with stakeholders.
Foster relationships with existing data reporting partners on campus and in the PINES region for best practices.
10% of the time:
Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Strong quantitative/data analysis skills and ability to compile, organize, analyze, interpret, and present data insights.
Ability to translate data insights into compelling stories about the student journey from recruitment to graduation.
Ability to work with disparate data repositories to identify and retrieve relevant data.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex data clearly.
Ability to collaborate in a team environment and build effective relationships with stakeholders.
Ability to work independently, solve problems, and seek resolution.
High attention to detail and consistent accuracy in work.
Adherence to ethical and legal standards.
Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of professional experience or equivalent relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
Experience analyzing student data in a higher education context.
Proficiency in JMP Statistical Analysis and Machine Learning Software and SPSS.
Salary and Benefits Salary range: $60,673.60 – $75,836.80 annually, commensurate with experience. Boise State University offers a comprehensive benefits package, including:
