The Medical Assistant, Critical Care provides local support to improve the efficiency of operations for the Pulmonary and Critical Care programs, by providing administrative and clinical services by perfecting processes. This position will work Monday through Friday, 7:30AM-4:30PM. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Patient care: including vital signs, medication updates, spirometry, phlebotomy, injections, O2 recertifications, and other testing as necessary Greeting patients and updating patient medical records Scheduling appointments Assisting in facilitating positive relationships among physicians, office staff and patients Completing insurance forms and other correspondence Arranging for hospital admissions and laboratory services Completing patient medical histories Assisting with scheduling tests and treatment Preparing, cleaning and maintaining exam and treatment rooms Preparing patients for examination, and assisting the physician during exams Instructing patients on medications and special dietary instructions Providing verbal or faxed prescriptions Administering medications as directed by physician Making prior authorization calls Managing prescription and pharmacy calls Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
MA certification Knowledge of medical terminology
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma 1-2 years in healthcare industry (hospital, physician practice or insurance) Electronic Medical Records experience
$18-$21 per hour. Exact pay will be determined based on candidate experience and geographical location.
