Description As a member of our Business Intelligence team you will work in three main modes, applying an engineering‑driven approach to automate, test, version‑control, optimize performance and measure outcomes. You will also have time dedicated to learning new data skills through trainings, new technologies or side projects.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Problem‑solving and solution design
You’ll act as part private investigator, part anthropologist, mapping real‑world activity and processes to systems and data
You’ll act as an internal consultant, collaborating with business partners to design the best ways to improve decisions and user experiences
Data modeling
Using dbt, a SQL‑based framework, to build and extend core data models in our Snowflake data warehouse
Developing backend models for Power BI datasets, using DAX and the full range of tooling in the Power BI service
Visualization and product development
Building apps and dashboards in Power BI that serve hundreds to thousands of users globally
Exploring other solutions as needed, even if they are not part of our core stack
OUR STACK
Power BI for rapidly building dashboards
Snowflake as our primary storage and compute engine
dbt, a SQL‑based framework for defining, testing, and documenting transformations and data models
Azure Data Lake for archival and staging
Prefect for orchestration
Terraform for infrastructure configuration and provisioning
Git for version control
GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps for CI/CD
HVR for CDC (change data capture) from relational data stores
Fivetran, Stitch, and custom integrations for batch‑based integrations
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Required:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Four+ years of relevant professional experience as a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or Analytics Engineer
Experience building dashboards or with visualization and designing user experiences
Experience designing KPIs; you understand and can communicate the impacts of selecting one metric over another
Ideal:
Highly quantitative background
Experience with dbt
Deep knowledge of SQL
2+ years of experience with Power BI
Experience with Python or R
