Overview We are seeking a highly motivated Business Analyst to support mortgage operations, system enhancements, workflow automation, and regulatory compliance initiatives within a fast‑paced banking environment. This role serves as a key liaison between business users, operations teams, compliance, IT, and third‑party vendors to deliver scalable solutions that improve efficiency, accuracy, customer experience, and operational controls. The ideal candidate will have experience with mortgage lending systems, business process analysis, workflow automation, reporting, and user support. Experience with loan origination systems such as ICE Encompass is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
Gather, analyze, and document business requirements for system enhancements, workflow changes, and operational initiatives.
Partner with mortgage operations, underwriting, funding, compliance, secondary marketing, servicing, and IT teams to identify process improvement opportunities.
Translate business needs into functional specifications, process flows, business rules, and testing scenarios.
Evaluate operational inefficiencies and recommend automation or workflow optimization solutions.
Support implementation of workflow automation, system integrations, and digital transformation initiatives.
Support and maintain mortgage lending platforms including ICE Encompass Desktop/Web environments.
Configure and maintain business rules, input forms, milestones, custom fields, workflow automation, notifications, and reporting logic; coordinate quarterly system releases, regression testing, and production deployments.
Troubleshoot system issues and provide timely support to end users; work with vendors and internal technology teams to resolve system defects and enhancement requests.
Develop operational reports, dashboards, and KPI metrics using SQL, reporting tools, or business intelligence platforms.
Analyze loan pipeline trends, SLA performance, operational bottlenecks, and exception reporting.
Assist management with executive reporting and operational analytics; validate data integrity and support audit or compliance review requests.
Support implementation of regulatory and compliance changes affecting mortgage operations; assist with HMDA, disclosures, audit remediation, and policy‑driven system updates.
Ensure system configurations align with internal controls, risk appetite, and operational procedures; maintain documentation for system changes, testing evidence, and production releases.
Perform user acceptance testing (UAT), regression testing, and validation of new system functionality; create and maintain test plans, test scripts, and implementation documentation.
Participate in project planning meetings and coordinate cross‑functional implementation activities; monitor project timelines, deliverables, and post‑production support activities.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
3+ years of Business Analyst experience within mortgage banking, financial services, or lending operations.
Strong understanding of mortgage lending processes and lifecycle.
Experience writing business requirements, process documentation, and test plans.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Experience with SQL, reporting tools, or data analysis.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with ICE Encompass administration or configuration.
Knowledge of mortgage compliance and regulatory requirements (HMDA, TRID, ECOA, etc.).
Experience with workflow automation, APIs, or system integrations.
Experience supporting enterprise system upgrades or implementations.

Compensation The base pay range for this position is USD $20.00/Hr. - USD $30.00/Hr. Exact offers will be determined based on job‑related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
