The Critical Facility Manager is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the operations and performance for Data Center and Critical Environments. The role will ensure all basics of safety, compliance, operation, and maintenance, building systems, and innovation requirements are met within the controlled environment of a 24/7 data center account and serves as the primary escalation point for all emergency events. The ideal candidate in this position will come from a data center critical environment background. Success in this role requires being an open, transparent, and consistent communicator to all stakeholders, as you'll have the opportunity to shape not only the team, but the Client relationship.
Your day-to-day tasks will include:
- Developing and implementing strategic initiatives and operational plans to drive efficiency, scalability, and resilience across Critical Environment operations
- Providing leadership and direction to critical vendors and operational staff, including unionized workforce.
- Responsible for proper operational oversight of large projects executed by PDS team to ensure alignment with client expectation, while directly overseeing management and execution of smaller, in-house projects handled by the Data Center Critical team.
- Monitoring and evaluating data center performance, ensuring adherence to service level agreements and key performance indicators
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce downtime, and minimize risks
- Overseeing financial aspects including budget planning, forecasting, and cost control
- Acting as primary point of contact for senior management, clients, partners, and vendors
- Managing relationships with strategic vendors and contractors to ensure service level agreements are met
- Evaluating and implementing innovative solutions to enhance efficiency, security, and sustainability
- Ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies
- Onsite presence at Alhambra and Irvine critical locations when required
- Serving as the primary on-call leader for the Critical Environment team, providing 24/7 support and decisive leadership during emergencies to guide the team toward a rapid resolution.
- Relationship Management
- Manage the performance and outcomes of assigned staff reporting to the position
- Maintain interface with client, ensuring total contract compliance, accurate and timely reporting, and resolve critical impact end user relations issues
- Compliance
- Provide overall facility services in accordance with accounts' standard processes and procedures including application of policies and programs, coordination of information
- Ensure compliance with portfolio wide initiatives and required local, state, and federal laws and regulations that pertain to the operating of facilities entrusted to the Facility Partners to manage on behalf of the client as owner
- Process Management
- Manage, coordinate, and exercise functional responsibility for Facility Management services within assigned facilities and geography
- Responsible for site achievement of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and managing resources and processes required to do so.
- People Management
- Responsible for overall team management, staff development and planning. Execute staff succession and growth plans.
- Responsible for direct management of unionized technical team, ensure adherence of Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
- 5+ years work experience in Data Centers or Critical Facilities with leadership responsibilities and people management expertise
- Experience with systems, emergency generators, switchgears, ups, hvac, fls
- Strong ability to read and interpret technical documents, safety rules, and maintenance instructions
- Strong leadership and relationship building skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and problem-solving ability
- Excellent communication skills, including report writing and effective speaking to leadership groups
- Proficiency with technical drawings, specifications, and measuring instruments
- Experienced in communications through of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access)
- Demonstrated leadership ability, presentation capabilities, and organizational skills
- Experience utilizing CMMS platforms
- Prior demonstration of Life Cycle Asset Management strategy planning and implementation
- Knowledge of standard business and accounting practices

Estimated compensation for this position:
155,000.00 155,000.00 USD per year
This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
