Under general supervision, coordinates and supports Full-Service Community Schools; develops programs through community partnerships by collaboration, resource sharing, and data tracking.
Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Provides day-to-day coordination and support for the implementation, integration, and alignment of the Full Service Community School (FSCS) strategy at the site level.
- Assists with the planning, facilitation, and evaluation of the annual Comprehensive Needs Assessment and resource mapping processes; ensures engagement of the FSCS site leadership team and key stakeholder groups; supports continuous improvement efforts and alignment with School Improvement Plans (SIPs) and FIP plans.
- Researches, recommends, and recruits community partners and resources; assists in developing partnership agreements and memorandums of understanding (MOUs); coordinates and evaluates the effectiveness of partner services.
- Collaborates with school and departments to develop, implement, and monitor programs and supports aligned with FSCS plans, SIPs, and FIP goals and priorities.
- Supports the development and implementation of youth and family leadership structures in collaboration with school administration to strengthen continuous school improvement efforts.
- Assists Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) teams by coordinating and implementing services that respond to student and family needs; ensures students are connected to appropriate school and community-based opportunities and resources.
- Builds and maintains strong relationships with school partners and culturally specific community organizations; identifies opportunities to align partnerships with school vision and goals.
- Participates in community committees and events to strengthen school-community connections and increase engagement.
- Develops and sustains partnerships with MPS departments, local universities, museums, and cultural organizations to expand in-classroom, out-of-classroom, and out-of-school-time learning opportunities.
- Plans, implements, and evaluates events and activities that engage families and community members, promote participation in students' education, and create a welcoming school environment; uses data to inform decision-making and ensure results-focused outcomes.
- Demonstrates courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with students, families, staff, and community members, contributing to a positive and effective workplace environment.
- Enthusiastically promotes the Superintendent's goals and priorities in compliance with all policies and procedures.
- Maintains strict confidentiality regarding work-related issues, records, and MPS information.
- Performs other duties or tasks as assigned based on departmental and organizational needs.
- May be required to work outside normal business hours, including extended hours, to fulfill the requirements of the position.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Education or a related field; AND four (4) years of experience working in community program strategy and development; OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience as determined by Human Resources.
Knowledge of:
- Principles and practices of program coordination, implementation, and evaluation.
- School systems, student support services, and continuous improvement processes.
- Community engagement strategies and family involvement practices.
- Culturally responsive practices and working with diverse populations.
- Partnership development and collaboration with community organizations and agencies.
- Data collection methods and the use of data to inform decision-making.
- Applicable policies, procedures, and regulations related to school and district operations.
Skill in:
- Planning, organizing, and coordinating multiple projects and activities.
- Building and maintaining effective working relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Communicating effectively both orally and in writing.

License and Certification Requirements:
- A valid Minnesota State Driver's License may be required.
Physical Demands and Working Environment:
- Work is performed in a standard office environment which requires occasionally lifting such articles as file boxes or heavier materials with help from others and/or lifting and carrying light objects frequently. A job in this category may require walking or standing to a significant degree or may involve sitting most of the time with long periods of computer work and heavy phone usage.
