The Systems Administrator 2 will administer and support daily operational requirements of computer network systems in a classified environment with SIPR (Secret Internet Protocol Router) connectivity. This role includes managing workstations, file servers, and web servers while maintaining strict security protocols required for classified operations.
Responsibilities
Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems in classified SIPR environment, including coordination with network administrators
Installs and configures hardware, software, and system upgrades for classified systems
Manages network accounts and enforces network security protocols specific to classified environments
Manages Active Directory, Group Policies, DNS, DHCP, File Server, Key Management Server, and other core IT services
Implements and maintains network security tools including firewalls, anti-virus, and intrusion detection services
Sets up administrator and service accounts while maintaining system documentation
Tunes system performance and installs system-wide software
Allocates and manages mass storage space
Provides backup and recovery coordination
Trains staff on software applications applicable to their positions
Monitors system configuration (hardware and software)
Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources
Evaluates vendor products and makes recommendations for hardware and software purchases
Provides technical assistance to customers with information technology issues
Maintains detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures and changes
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems with 3 years of professional experience in systems administration OR
Master's degree in a related field with 1 year of relevant experience
Security+ or other Cyber Workforce (CWF) certification(s) required
Current or Active U.S. Secret clearance (must maintain throughout employment)
Preferred Requirements
Prior experience performing systems administration in a classified space
Security+ or other certifications allowing personnel to maintain Cyber Workforce (CWF) credentials
Experience with MS Windows OS and Red Hat OS
Experience supporting the installation, configuration and maintenance of physical and virtual servers
Familiarity with STIGs, Nessus, and the RMF process
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
A+ certification and/or related hardware/software experience
Physical Requirements
Adequate visual acuity and manual dexterity for meeting the requirements of the Systems Analyst discipline
Ability to lift physical desktop computers and rack mounted servers and other equipment
