CSI Companies is seeking a Network Engineer to support campus connectivity initiatives, ensuring wired and wireless networks are fast, secure, and always available. This role will design, implement, and support network infrastructure - including switching, Wi?Fi, network segmentation, and IoT onboarding - while partnering with senior engineers to improve day?to?day reliability.
The ideal candidate will bring strong enterprise wired and wireless support experience (including Ethernet/TCP-IP, VLANs, and Wi?Fi fundamentals), strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to maintain accurate technical documentation. Experience working with IoT or smart devices is a plus.
Hours: 40 hours/week
Location: On-site in Sunnyvale, TX

Position Type: Consultant
On-call: Required rotation supporting critical campus connectivity and IoT services
What you’ll do:
Design, implement, and support wired and wireless enterprise network infrastructure
Configure and troubleshoot enterprise switches and access points from at least one major network vendor
Apply network segmentation using VLANs and basic firewall/ACL policies for users, guests, and devices
Support IoT/smart device connectivity by understanding why segmentation and isolation matter
Collaborate with senior engineers on network reliability and continuous improvement initiatives
Help drive troubleshooting of network issues using strong technical reasoning
Maintain accurate technical documentation to support operational needs and maintenance activities
Assist with controlled maintenance activities, including firmware/software upgrades with rollback planning
What we’re looking for:
3–5 years supporting enterprise wired and wireless networks in an office, campus, or similar environment
Strong understanding of Ethernet and TCP/IP, including VLANs and basic routing concepts
Solid Wi?Fi fundamentals, including SSID/authentication concepts, RF basics, and roaming behavior
Hands‑on experience configuring and troubleshooting enterprise switches and access points from at least one major network vendor
Experience implementing network segmentation using VLANs and basic firewall/ACL policies for users, guests, and devices
Exposure to IoT or smart devices in enterprise environments (segmentation/isolation concepts)
Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to communicate clearly
Accurate technical documentation habits
Nice to have:
Experience with NAC/802.1X, RADIUS, and certificate-based onboarding
Familiarity with networking requirements for video surveillance, access control, AV, or building management systems
Exposure to cloud networking and/or connecting campus environments to cloud platforms
Experience with SD?WAN or similar technologies
